Our client is seeking a highly motivated Market Data Analyst to join their team based in Hong Kong. This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals with a strong understanding of financial markets and excellent skills in handling market data systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, evaluating, and analysing market data to support trading, compliance, and portfolio management teams.
This role requires someone proficient in Bloomberg terminals and tools, with the ability to extract, interpret and deliver data insights in a fast-paced environment. You will liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure the correct usage, licensing, and optimisation of market data. A strong analytical mindset and proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage the flow and quality of real-time and historical market data from sources including Bloomberg and other third-party providers.
- Ensure data compliance and reporting standards are met across platforms and operations.
- Create and maintain documentation for data workflows and usage guidelines.
- Collaborate with trading, technology and compliance teams to support data-driven decision-making.
- Support audits and data usage reviews by providing accurate and timely information.
- Track market data expenses and suggest cost-effective solutions where possible.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role within the financial services industry.
- Strong proficiency with Bloomberg, including experience using Bloomberg Terminal functions and APIs.
- Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Good understanding of financial instruments, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and market indices.
- Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills; experience with SQL or Python is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
