We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive candidate to join our team in Hong Kong Island as part of the operations division, supporting equity derivatives trading. This is a critical role bridging the front office and back office, ensuring the smooth processing, settlement, and lifecycle management of complex equity derivative products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for trade capture validation, reconciliation of daily trading activity, resolving trade discrepancies with traders and counterparties, and monitoring settlement status. You will have direct interaction with internal departments such as Risk, Finance, Compliance, and IT, as well as external brokers and custodians. Oversight and timely resolution of breaks, fails, and exceptions will be a key part of the role, requiring strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate trade capture and verification of equity derivative products including options, swaps, and structured notes.
  • Manage trade lifecycle events – confirmations, settlements, expiries, and corporate action processing.
  • Liaise with front office, risk management and counterparties to resolve trade discrepancies and operational breaks.
  • Monitor outstanding trades and ensure timely settlement in accordance with market deadlines.
  • Identify process improvements for increased efficiency and enhanced risk control.
  • Assist in regulatory reporting, reconciliations, and onboarding of new products.
  • Participate in UAT testing for system enhancements and infrastructure changes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in trade support, operations, or middle office within equity derivatives – prior experience in a global financial institution is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of derivative trade flows, equity markets and settlement practices in Asia.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and functions.
  • Strong Excel skills; familiarity with industry systems such as Bloomberg, Calypso or Murex is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Fluency in English required, Cantonese or Mandarin language skills are an advantage.

This position offers an opportunity for growth and development in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-focused and capable of handling high volumes while maintaining accuracy.
