We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in policy administration systems to join a leading life insurer on a contract basis. This role is based in Hong Kong and offers a unique opportunity to drive critical system transformation initiatives within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end project delivery related to the enhancement, replacement, or integration of policy admin systems. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, underwriting, actuarial and compliance, to ensure projects align with business goals and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project planning, scoping, scheduling, resource allocation, and execution.
  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and changes, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure the delivery of quality solutions on time and within budget.
  • Define project scope and objectives, involving relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Provide regular status reports and updates to senior management and other key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing and system rollout planning.
  • Ensure all projects comply with company governance frameworks and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in project management within the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Proven experience managing policy admin system projects, ideally within a life insurance environment.
  • Strong understanding of insurance operations, products, and regulatory requirements in Asia.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to manage both business and technical audiences.
  • Solid knowledge of agile and/or traditional project management methodologies (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum).
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritise activities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience working with offshore teams and third-party vendors is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or relevant discipline. Project management certification preferred.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Cantonese or Mandarin is an advantage.
