We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in policy administration systems to join a leading life insurer on a contract basis. This role is based in Hong Kong and offers a unique opportunity to drive critical system transformation initiatives within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end project delivery related to the enhancement, replacement, or integration of policy admin systems. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, underwriting, actuarial and compliance, to ensure projects align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project planning, scoping, scheduling, resource allocation, and execution.
- Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and changes, ensuring timely resolution.
- Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure the delivery of quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Define project scope and objectives, involving relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Provide regular status reports and updates to senior management and other key stakeholders.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing and system rollout planning.
- Ensure all projects comply with company governance frameworks and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in project management within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Proven experience managing policy admin system projects, ideally within a life insurance environment.
- Strong understanding of insurance operations, products, and regulatory requirements in Asia.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to manage both business and technical audiences.
- Solid knowledge of agile and/or traditional project management methodologies (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum).
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritise activities in a fast-paced setting.
- Experience working with offshore teams and third-party vendors is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or relevant discipline. Project management certification preferred.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Cantonese or Mandarin is an advantage.
