VP/Director, HK Corporates, Global coverage - Foreign bank

This role involves managing a significant portfolio of large corporate relationships in Hong Kong, supporting the bank’s strategic goals, and delivering comprehensive corporate and investment banking solutions. It is a key position that requires building deep client relationships, coordinating cross-product activities, and promoting sustainability and energy transition financing.

Role Overview:
The VP/Director will develop and manage a portfolio of large Hong Kong corporate clients and conglomerates, acting as the primary relationship owner. The role involves executing strategic account plans, originating and cross-selling a broad range of banking products, and facilitating collaboration across regional and global teams. The position is integral to maximizing client profitability, managing risks, and supporting the bank’s focus on ESG, energy transition, and sustainable financing.

Key Skills & Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in corporate banking sales and relationship management
• Strong product knowledge across banking and capital markets, including lending, treasury, trade finance, and risk management solutions
• Excellent relationship management, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to work independently under pressure and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
• Strong influencing and presentation skills, with stakeholder engagement at all levels
• Fluent in spoken and written English, Cantonese, and Mandarin

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and expand a portfolio of large Hong Kong corporates and conglomerates
• Build and execute strategic account plans for relationship growth and profitability
• Serve as the primary relationship owner, coordinating internally to deliver tailored client solutions
• Originate and cross-sell a wide suite of products including bilateral and syndicated loans, bonds, derivatives, trade finance, cash management, structured, and asset-backed finance, as well as M&A advisory
• Partner with internal teams—including product, risk, credit, and compliance—to ensure seamless service delivery
• Proactively manage credit and counterparty risks to safeguard portfolio quality
• Support the bank’s sustainability and energy transition financing initiatives
• Facilitate collaboration with regional and global offices on cross-border opportunities

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• At least 10 years’ experience in corporate banking sales and relationship management
• Strong knowledge of banking and capital markets products, including lending, treasury, and trade finance solutions
• Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
• Ability to work independently and deliver results in a demanding environment

Nice to Have (Optional):
• Experience in Real Estate Finance, Cash Management, Asset-Backed Securities, Project Finance, or Tier 2 Banking Investment
