We are seeking an experienced and qualified Actuarial ALM Manager to join our team based in Shenzhen, China. This is a critical leadership role within the actuarial function, focusing on Asset and Liability Management (ALM) strategy and execution. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health of the organisation by driving robust ALM frameworks, methodologies, and risk management practices.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining ALM models, collaborating closely with investment and finance teams to manage balance sheet risks, and supporting strategic decision-making processes through quantitative analysis and scenario testing. You will also provide insights into the impact of interest rate risks, inflation, and capital markets on long-term liabilities, and ensure that ALM practices remain compliant with local and international regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six years’ experience within an actuarial or asset-liability management role, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry. Strong technical knowledge of ALM frameworks, economic capital, interest rate modelling and capital optimisation is essential. Experience in using actuarial software tools such as Prophet, MoSes or similar, along with strong programming skills in R, Python or VBA is highly desirable.

Applicants must be a Fellow or near-Fellow of a recognised actuarial body (such as the IFoA or equivalent), with a solid understanding of Solvency II, IFRS 17, and local regulatory frameworks. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the role requires presenting complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Fluency in English is required; Mandarin Chinese would be a distinct advantage but is not essential. A proven ability to manage teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders is important for success in this role. This is a highly strategic position suitable for a pro-active, analytical and collaborative professional with a strong track record in actuarial ALM.
