We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our client's team as a Capital & ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) M-SM based in Hong Kong. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in risk management, capital modelling, and regulatory requirements, to support and enhance the organisation's risk framework and capital planning processes.
This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining capital models and ERM frameworks that comply with evolving regulatory standards. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to perform risk assessments, monitor key risk indicators, and ensure that capital adequacy is managed in alignment with business activities and market developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance capital models to support internal decision-making and regulatory requirements.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the enterprise-wide risk management framework.
- Conduct risk assessments across various business units, identifying emerging risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Engage with senior stakeholders to communicate risk appetite, capital usage, and the impact of potential risk exposures.
- Produce reports and presentations for risk committees and board review.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory standards related to capital adequacy and risk governance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g. CFA, FRM, FIA) preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in capital management, risk analysis, or ERM within the financial services or insurance industry.
- In-depth understanding of regulatory regimes and capital requirements such as Solvency II, ICS, and HKIA regulations.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining capital models, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
- Familiarity with risk governance frameworks and the ORSA (Own Risk and Solvency Assessment) process.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency in software tools such as Excel, VBA, R, or other risk modelling tools is an advantage.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus.
