Enterprise Data Transformation
Our client is a well-established organisation in the banking sector, committed to fostering a collaborative and innovative culture. They are seeking a senior data professional to lead a strategic enterprise data transformation. This person will be responsible for shaping and implementing the bank's data architecture and governance, moving from fragmented data systems to a unified single source of truth that supports regulatory reporting, analytics, risk management, finance, and digital platforms. Role Overview:
The purpose of this role is to provide end-to-end leadership in designing and executing the target enterprise data landscape, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and operational excellence across the organisation.
Key Skills & Experience:
• 10–15+ years of experience in data architecture, data platforms, or enterprise architecture
• Strong banking domain knowledge, particularly in core banking data, regulatory reporting, and risk or finance systems
• Proven experience designing enterprise data architectures for regulated financial institutions
• Hands-on delivery experience with data modeling, warehousing, and governance tools
• Technical expertise in enterprise data modeling, data warehousing architectures, metadata management, and data integration patterns
• Knowledge of cloud and hybrid architectures, security, encryption, and data access controls
• Deep understanding of data ownership, stewardship, and regulatory compliance requirements
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to challenge legacy systems diplomatically
• Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct a current-state assessment of core banking data, data warehouses/data lakes, regulatory reporting stores, and data integrations
• Define and own the target enterprise data architecture, including canonical data models, master data strategies, and data domain ownership
• Establish architectural principles such as a single version of truth, domain-based ownership, and governed data products
• Implement formal data governance, ownership, and access models, ensuring data traceability and controls to meet regulatory standards
• Support audits, internal risk reviews, and regulatory exams with strong data lineage and compliance documentation
• Collaborate closely with finance, risk, IT, and business units to facilitate adoption of new data standards and practices
• Challenge and improve legacy architectures with practical, innovative solutions
• Provide executive-level communication and comprehensive documentation to support strategic initiatives
Requirements:
• On-site availability in Hong Kong
• Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
• Experience supporting audits, risk reviews, or regulatory examinations
• Proven ability to deliver hands-on architectural solutions and strategies in a banking environment
• Valid working rights for Hong Kong or eligibility to work in the region
