Position Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Executive Director to oversee and drive the treaty reinsurance business in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate will bring extensive reinsurance experience, strong commercial judgment, and a proven track record in leading teams and executing successful treaty placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Shape and execute the overall strategy for the treaty reinsurance division, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
- Market Development: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with key market stakeholders, including clients, reinsurers, and relevant regulatory bodies.
- Client Management: Build trusted, long-term client relationships, delivering expert guidance and tailored treaty solutions that address evolving needs.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of brokers, fostering high performance, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Negotiation & Placement: Drive and negotiate treaty placements, securing competitive terms and maximising value for clients.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to maintain a strong market position.
- Risk Management: Work closely with underwriting, actuarial, and analytics teams to assess risk and structure appropriate treaty solutions.
- Performance Oversight: Manage key performance metrics and ensure continuous improvement across service delivery and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- At least 10 years of experience in reinsurance brokerage, specifically with deep exposure to treaty operations and leadership responsibilities.
- Demonstrated success in developing client relationships and leading complex treaty placements.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership capabilities.
- Strong analytical mindset and solid understanding of market dynamics and risk evaluation.
- Professional designations such as ACII or CPCU are highly advantageous.
