A fast‑growing specialist risk advisory firm is expanding its Hong Kong presence and seeking a commercially driven Sales Lead / Broker to drive business development across Financial Lines, Cyber, and Digital Asset insurance. This is a rare opportunity to shape the firm's go-to market strategy in Hong Kong within a modern, tech‑forward environment focused on emerging and complex risks.


Role Overview

You will lead revenue growth and client acquisition across Hong Kong and North Asia, working closely with senior leadership. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, self‑directed, and motivated by high‑growth markets, innovative risk categories, and building long‑term client relationships.


Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development

  • Develop and execute a revenue‑focused sales strategy.
  • Source and win new clients across startups, VCs, fintech, digital asset firms, and multinational corporates.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline through outreach, referrals, events, and channel partnerships.
  • Lead the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to closing deals.

2. Client Advisory & Broking

  • Analyse client risk profiles and design tailored insurance solutions.
  • Present coverage recommendations, negotiate terms, and place business with insurers.
  • Manage renewals and maintain high client satisfaction.
  • Advise on Financial Lines, Cyber, Digital Asset, and other specialty insurance products.

3. Market Engagement

  • Build relationships with regional and global insurers and underwriters.
  • Negotiate competitive terms and collaborate on complex placements.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, accelerators, and ecosystem partners.
  • Develop distribution partnerships across professional services and innovation communities.

4. Strategic Contribution

  • Support development of new insurance propositions and product innovation.
  • Provide market intelligence to inform underwriting and sales strategy.
  • Contribute to sales playbooks, collateral, and AI‑enhanced sales tools.
  • Help shape the HK office as the business scales.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4–6+ years in insurance broking or underwriting (Financial Lines or Cyber ideal).
  • IIQE Paper I & II preferred.
  • Proven track record in business development and closing deals.
  • Strong relationship‑building, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with high ownership and comfort in fast‑growing environments.
  • Passion for emerging risks and willingness to deepen domain expertise.
  • Fluent in English; Mandarin an advantage.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with startups, fintechs, digital asset firms, or high‑growth companies.
  • Existing network of brokers, underwriters, or ecosystem partners.
  • Ability to structure complex specialty insurance placements.
  • Commercially sharp with a consultative sales style.
  • Interest in technology, cybersecurity, and emerging risk trends.
  • Independent operator with ambition to help build a regional franchise.
