We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive professional for the role of Deputy General Manager/Assistant General Manager in Financial Accounting. This position will be responsible for leading the financial accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting strategic financial decision-making at a senior level.
The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including the preparation of statutory accounts, monthly and annual financial reports, regulatory filings, and audit coordination. You will be expected to develop and maintain robust internal controls, ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes.
This role requires strong leadership skills to manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, as well as to collaborate with senior management to deliver timely and insightful financial analysis. You should be capable of handling complex financial matters and acting as a key point of contact for external auditors and regulators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Manage accounting closing schedules and reconciliation procedures.
- Enhance existing financial systems, controls, and reporting tools.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Manage and mentor accounting team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (HKICPA, ACCA, CPA Australia, or equivalent).
- Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in financial accounting, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and local statutory requirements.
- Proven experience working within multinational or large regional firms, preferably in finance or audit sectors.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English and Cantonese.
- Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
