We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated professional to join our team as Financial & Regulatory Reporting Team Head/Deputy Team Head. This senior role will provide leadership and oversight for the financial accounting and regulatory reporting function, ensuring compliance with local and international regulatory frameworks, including HKMA, IFRS, and Basel regulations.
The successful candidate will oversee the preparation and submission of accurate and timely financial and regulatory reports, manage internal and external audit processes, and liaise with regulatory authorities. You will play a key role in driving process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives to support regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. This position requires a strong understanding of the financial services industry, particularly in banking or financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the team responsible for financial and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to regulators including HKMA, SFC, and relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee statutory financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
- Provide technical accounting advice and ensure compliance with the latest regulatory updates.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external auditors during audits and examinations.
- Support the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and control processes.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, and internal control requirements to ensure the team remains compliant and proactive.
Requirements:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Qualified accountant (e.g. HKICPA, ACCA or equivalent) with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in financial or regulatory reporting, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
- Proven experience in leading a team and managing people in a dynamic work environment.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS, Basel III, and HKMA regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with regulatory reporting systems and ERP solutions is an advantage.
