We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Capital Markets Auditor to join our internal audit team based in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting independent, objective assurance and consulting activities designed to add value and improve the organisation’s capital markets operations. The role requires a deep understanding of financial products, trading activities, risk management practices, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
You will assess the effectiveness of controls, identify areas of improvement, and provide recommendations that enhance operational efficiency, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and report internal audits of capital markets activities including trading, treasury, and related support functions.
- Evaluate processes and controls across front, middle and back office functions within capital markets divisions.
- Identify control weaknesses and provide practical, value-added recommendations to management.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and industry best practices.
- Prepare clear and concise audit reports documenting findings, analyses, and recommendations.
- Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure their effective implementation.
- Maintain a strong understanding of evolving regulatory, market, and operational risks relevant to capital markets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CFA or CIA are highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in internal audit, external audit, or risk management, with specific exposure to capital markets or trading businesses.
- Thorough knowledge of capital markets products (equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, structured products) and supporting operations.
- Strong understanding of risk management, compliance frameworks, and applicable regulatory requirements within financial services.
- Proficiency in audit methodologies, control assessments, and the use of auditing tools and techniques.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications; experience with data analysis or visualisation tools such as ACL, Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and professional scepticism.
