MD/ED, Head of Commodities, Investment Bank (Sales & Trading & Operation)

A leading investment bank is seeking a seasoned and strategic leader to head its Commodities division, overseeing Sales, Trading, and Operations. This is a pivotal role for a dynamic individual with deep market expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in driving business growth across the commodities landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the full spectrum of the Commodities business, including sales, trading, and operational functions.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to expand the bank’s commodities footprint across Greater China and global markets.
• Drive revenue growth through client acquisition, product innovation, and market penetration.
• Oversee risk management, compliance, and operational efficiency across the division.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Technology to ensure seamless execution and governance.
• Represent the bank in external forums, regulatory discussions, and industry events.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 15–20 years of experience in commodities within investment banking or global markets.
• Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional teams across Sales, Trading, and Operations.
• Deep understanding of commodity products including energy, metals, and agricultural derivatives.
• Proven track record in building client relationships with institutional investors, corporates, and sovereign entities.
• Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and execution capabilities.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
