We are seeking an experienced Pricing Actuary to join our reinsurance team based in Hong Kong. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to a dynamic and diverse business operating across both the Hong Kong and China markets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in reinsurance pricing and a proven ability to support cross-border business initiatives.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and reviewing pricing models, conducting portfolio analysis, and supporting strategic pricing decisions. Your work will directly support reinsurance deals, liaising with underwriters, client managers and other stakeholders to ensure robust actuarial input in deal assessment and negotiation processes. A strong understanding of the regulatory environments and market dynamics in both Hong Kong and Mainland China is desirable, with experience in the China market considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pricing analysis for reinsurance treaties across various lines of business
  • Support the development and enhancement of pricing models and tools
  • Collaborate with underwriters and client managers to assess technical pricing adequacy
  • Contribute to the appraisal of new business opportunities in both Hong Kong and China
  • Ensure pricing practices comply with internal standards and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in monitoring portfolio profitability and performance over time
  • Deliver actuarial insight to support management with strategic decision-making

Requirements:

  • 3–8 years of actuarial experience, with a focus on reinsurance pricing
  • Part-qualified or fully qualified actuary from a recognised actuarial body
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in actuarial software and data manipulation tools
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present technical findings to non-actuarial stakeholders
  • Experience working in or with the China reinsurance market is a strong advantage
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to advance their career in the reinsurance sector while gaining exposure to two of Asia’s most important insurance markets. We offer a collaborative work culture, ongoing professional development, and the chance to be part of a high-performing team.
