We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team based in Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
As a Senior Accountant, you will handle monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, reconcile general ledger accounts, and prepare financial statements. You will work closely with internal departments to provide financial insights, support strategic decision-making, and improve operational efficiency. This role requires strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely entries
- Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g. IFRS)
- Prepare tax filings and support tax planning activities
- Monitor internal controls and assist with process improvements
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Mentor junior accounting staff and support training initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Cantonese or Mandarin is an advantage
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
