Our client, a digital banking is seeking an experienced Senior Credit Risk Manager to join our dynamic team in Hong Kong. This pivotal role is responsible for managing and overseeing credit risk policies, frameworks, and assessments across a diversified portfolio. You will play a strategic part in shaping and strengthening the organisation’s credit risk posture to support long-term sustainable growth while adhering to regulatory standards and internal governance.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in credit risk management within financial institutions, with a deep understanding of risk frameworks, policies, and exposure management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including credit analysts, relationship managers, compliance and senior stakeholders to evaluate creditworthiness, develop credit strategies, and implement best practices in risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of robust credit risk policies and procedures.
  • Conduct advanced credit analysis and risk assessments for corporate and institutional clients.
  • Monitor and report on credit exposures, limits, and portfolio performance.
  • Ensure adherence to local and international regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior management to define and execute risk appetite strategies.
  • Support stress testing, scenario analysis and capital planning processes related to credit risk.
  • Prepare and present risk reports, dashboards and recommendations to senior leadership.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related disciplines. Professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in credit risk management, preferably within banking or financial services.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-making at senior levels of the organisation.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit risk modelling, stress testing and regulatory frameworks such as Basel III/IV.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English. Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and risk-related systems and tools.
