Senior Manager, Product Development
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager for Life Product Development to join our client's insurance team in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and management of life insurance products, with a specific focus on savings-oriented products. This is an excellent opportunity for a forward-thinking individual to lead a dedicated team of four professionals and drive innovation in product development to meet market demands and strategic objectives.
The role involves end-to-end product development, from market research and ideation through to pricing, regulatory approvals, marketing support, and post-launch performance monitoring. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of the life insurance product landscape, particularly within the savings segment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of four product specialists to develop saving-type life insurance products.
- Conduct detailed market and competitor analyses to identify product gaps and opportunities.
- Drive the development and implementation of new product concepts aligned with company strategy.
- Coordinate with internal departments including actuarial, distribution, legal, compliance, operations, and marketing to ensure smooth product launch.
- Manage product lifecycle including enhancements, repositioning, and phasing out of existing products.
- Ensure all product materials comply with relevant regulatory requirements and governance processes.
- Monitor and analyse product performance post-launch to evaluate success and suggest improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Business, or a related discipline; professional actuarial qualification is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in life insurance product development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
- Strong knowledge of the insurance market in Hong Kong, with proven experience in savings product development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong project management capability with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and timelines efficiently.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is an advantage.
- Results-oriented and capable of working under pressure in a dynamic environment.
