We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented actuary to join our team in GZ, Guangdong, China. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong analytical mindset, excellent modelling skills, and a deep understanding of actuarial principles. A key focus will be on Prophet modelling and the implementation and application of IFRS17, making this position ideal for candidates with experience or significant interest in these areas.
As an actuary, your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining actuarial models, supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with emerging regulatory and accounting standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights, forecasts, and risk assessments that support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Prophet models, ensuring accuracy and consistency with actuarial methodologies and business requirements.
- Support the implementation and ongoing compliance with IFRS17 reporting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and regulatory reports.
- Analyse financial and risk data to support pricing, reserving, and capital management activities.
- Collaborate with finance, risk, and IT teams to ensure integration of actuarial systems with broader financial reporting processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within actuarial workflows.
Requirements:
- Qualified or part-qualified actuary through a recognised actuarial body.
- Strong experience and proficiency in Prophet modelling software.
- Solid understanding of IFRS17 requirements and their practical application in financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data visualisation or programming tools such as R or Python is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
