We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Legal and Compliance department in Hong Kong as a Manager responsible for AML, FATCA and AEOI compliance. This role reports directly to the Director of Legal and Compliance and involves overseeing key regulatory compliance initiatives, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA). The position plays an instrumental role in ensuring the organisation meets all compliance and regulatory obligations across these areas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a robust AML compliance framework in line with current laws and industry standards. Key duties include managing FATCA and AEOI reporting requirements and due diligence processes, conducting comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential financial crime risks, and maintaining up-to-date risk assessment models that reflect operational and regulatory changes. You will lead compliance-related initiatives independently, drafting and revising relevant policies and procedures, ensuring effective dissemination of guidelines across the organisation.
Further responsibilities include overseeing the transaction monitoring system to detect and report suspicious activities promptly, generating regular reports for senior management, and providing feedback on the efficiency of the AML programme. The role also encompasses designing and delivering training sessions to internal staff and key stakeholders, ensuring full awareness of their roles in AML, CRS and FATCA compliance.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Business, Accounting or Law and have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in AML compliance. Candidates with experience in CRS and FATCA, or from an audit or legal background, will be considered favourably. Holding a recognised professional qualification such as ACAMS or CPA is advantageous. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work autonomously and under pressure, and proactive problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as this role involves regular coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese is required, with Mandarin proficiency an added benefit. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
