We are seeking an experienced Life Insurance Risk Based Capital (RBC) Actuary to support the development and implementation of RBC frameworks. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance with applicable capital adequacy requirements, specifically under the Hong Kong Insurance Authority's RBC regime.
This role involves detailed risk assessment, including insurance, market, credit, and operational risk, and contributes directly to the development of internal models and capital planning processes. The position is ideal for a self-motivated actuary with a strong understanding of the life insurance industry and capital modelling, ideally with experience in Fubon RBC SM or equivalent standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the design, development, and implementation of the RBC framework in line with regulatory expectations and internal objectives.
- Provide in-depth analysis of capital requirements, solvency positions, and risk exposures under various stress scenarios.
- Collaborate with finance, investment, and risk management teams to integrate capital requirements into business planning.
- Develop and maintain actuarial models for capital calculation and risk quantification.
- Interpret regulatory guidelines and advise on implications for business and product development.
- Produce documentation and reports for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and regulators.
Requirements:
- Fellowship qualification (e.g. FIA, FSA, or equivalent) is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of actuarial experience within the life insurance industry, including exposure to risk-based capital frameworks.
- Strong technical expertise in capital modelling, risk assessment, and regulatory reporting.
- Familiarity with the Hong Kong RBC framework and local regulatory environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in actuarial software such as Prophet, AXIS, or similar tools, and strong Excel and programming skills (e.g., VBA, R, Python) are desirable.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
