We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant IT Manager to join our client's team based in Hong Kong. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong IT background who are ready to take on a leadership role and support the strategic direction of our technology initiatives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the IT Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring systems and network infrastructure operate efficiently, securely, and cost-effectively. You will also help lead project implementation, coordinate with vendors, and provide technical expertise to support various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the IT infrastructure including networks, servers, and security systems
- Support in the planning and implementation of IT projects and system upgrades
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to reduce downtime
- Review and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices
- Support end-users with hardware, software, and network issues
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers
- Assist in IT budgeting and resource planning
- Conduct training sessions and develop materials for staff technology use
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT support or systems administration, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Proficiency in Windows/Linux server environments, networking protocols, and cybersecurity
- Experience in managing IT projects and liaising with external vendors
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional certifications such as ITIL, Cisco, or Microsoft are an advantage
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
