We are seeking a highly motivated Credit Risk Underwriter to join our Risk team based in Hong Kong. This role is ideal for professionals with strong financial analytical skills and experience in credit risk assessment who are looking for a stable, international working environment with less bureaucracy and a flat organisational structure. The successful candidate will be responsible for credit analysis focused on servicing clients directly. Key responsibilities include:
- Analysing the creditworthiness of companies—primarily in Hong Kong, but also internationally—to decide on credit limit requests.
- Monitoring the risk portfolio by preparing and evaluating all available information, including gathering market intelligence and conducting company visits or calls.
- Performing industry analysis to assess trends and sector-specific risks.
- Managing a designated customer portfolio through regular interactions with clients and brokers.
- Supporting the Commercial team to ensure a profitable customer portfolio and delivering a proactive level of service to clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 5–8 years of experience in commercial banking or credit risk management.
- Thorough understanding of financial statement analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Native Cantonese speaker, with proficiency in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, positive work attitude, and capable of working collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in multinational companies or multicultural environments is considered an advantage.
