We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IFRS Actuary to join a leading life insurer based in Hong Kong. This is a key position within the finance and actuarial team, responsible for supporting the implementation, reporting, and interpretation of financial results under the IFRS framework, particularly IFRS 17.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support IFRS 17 implementation and contribute to improving financial reporting processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate production of actuarial reports in accordance with IFRS metrics.
- Provide expert advice on the impact of IFRS changes on the business and capital implications.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of actuarial models and methodologies.
- Collaborate with finance, risk, and investment teams to model financial performance under new accounting standards.
- Participate in audit, risk and regulatory discussions related to IFRS reporting obligations.
- Assist with strategic projects focusing on actuarial transformation and optimisation.
Requirements:
- Qualified actuary (FIA, FSA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in life insurance actuarial roles.
- Solid understanding of IFRS 17 and other relevant financial reporting standards.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, particularly in actuarial modelling and valuation.
- Experience with Prophet or similar actuarial software is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and present complex actuarial concepts clearly.
- Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Fluency in English. Cantonese or Mandarin would be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and capital standards applicable to life insurers in Asia is a plus.
