We are seeking an experienced and driven AVP level Actuary to join our client's Life and Health team in a leading reinsurance organisation based in Hong Kong. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a central role in the pricing, risk assessment, and product development initiatives, supporting our expanding life and health reinsurance portfolio across the Asia-Pacific region.
As an AVP Actuary, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including underwriting, business development, data analytics, and risk management to ensure pricing accuracy, facilitate innovative solutions, and deliver value to clients. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining actuarial models, evaluating client portfolios, and contributing to strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead actuarial analysis related to life and health reinsurance pricing and risk assessment
- Develop, review, and enhance pricing models using actuarial software and tools
- Collaborate with underwriters and business development teams on client propositions
- Analyse experience studies and derive relevant assumptions for future pricing and valuation
- Contribute to the development of innovative products and solutions within the life & health space
- Support portfolio monitoring, profitability analysis, and reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks, actuarial standards, and regulatory requirements
- Mentor junior actuaries and contribute to the development of best practices
Requirements:
- Fellow of a recognised actuarial body (e.g., FIA, FSA, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 7 years' actuarial experience, with a focus on life and health insurance or reinsurance
- Strong technical skills in actuarial modelling, experience studies, and pricing methodologies
- Proficiency in actuarial modelling tools such as Prophet, AXIS or equivalent
- Experience in the Asia-Pacific market is a strong advantage
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team context in a dynamic environment
