Life Claims Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Life Claims Officer to join our client's team in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Island. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in life insurance claims assessment who are eager to contribute to a high-performing team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring fair and efficient claims handling in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate life insurance claims, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Review and analyse medical documentation, policy information, and other supporting evidence.
• Communicate with policyholders, beneficiaries, agents and medical professionals to gather additional information where necessary.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including underwriting and legal teams to ensure consistency in claims decisions.
• Prepare clear and accurate claims reports and documentation for audit and record-keeping purposes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the claims process and the identification of fraud risks.
• Ensure prompt turnaround times while maintaining high standards and compliance with service level agreements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in insurance, finance, healthcare or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in life claims assessment within the insurance industry.
• Sound understanding of life insurance products, policy terms and the regulatory landscape in Hong Kong.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, in English; Cantonese and Mandarin are advantages.
• Proficiency with claims administration systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently under pressure, managing priorities across multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong customer service orientation with a compassionate and ethical approach in handling sensitive cases.
