Senior Manager, Operational Risk Management

Our client is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Senior Manager in Operational Risk Management. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing a robust Operational Risk Management (ORM) framework, tailored to align with the institution’s current people, processes, and systems. The position will focus on sustainable processes and continuous improvement initiatives that reduce operational risks across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the Operational Risk Management framework and related procedures.
• Create and apply risk mitigation strategies related to day-to-day banking operations.
• Advise management on ORM best practices, regulatory requirements, and operational resilience.
• Support business units and support functions with operational risk and control management.
• Review operational risk events, ensuring accurate records and identifying improvement areas.
• Lead regulatory capital assessments for operational risk.
• Evaluate efficiency of risk management practices against policies and strategies.
• Monitor and report on key operational risk indicators.
• Facilitate and verify results of risk and control self-assessments.
• Conduct oversight of enterprise-wide operations to detect operational deficiencies.
• Deliver training to raise awareness of operational risk and foster internal control culture.

Requirements:

• University degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in operational risk management within a financial institution.
• ECF certification is an advantage.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
• Sound judgement, ability to work independently, and perform well under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proactive and well-organised.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Knowledge of Putonghua is a plus.
