The role focuses on driving the design and execution of technology solutions supporting Actuarial and Finance business outcomes. The successful candidate will act as the Tech Product Owner, overseeing the architectural design, delivery and handover of actuarial systems and tools, including model point files, assumption management and run orchestration workflows. This position will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable, and integrated solutions aligned with the firm’s global technology standards.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Recommend and justify technology solution designs that deliver business value and align with strategic technology roadmaps.
- Provide timely updates to key governance bodies and senior stakeholders.
- Lead and inspire cross-functional teams of technical experts in the successful delivery of projects.
- Translate business requirements into practical and efficient technology architecture and solution proposals.
- Design application, integration and infrastructure architecture specifically for actuarial and reporting technology products.
- Collaborate effectively with finance and actuarial stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met.
- Oversee product delivery and ensure successful transition into BAU support post go-live.
- Manage internal and third-party teams to deliver projects efficiently and to high standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in the insurance industry, particularly in actuarial and technology domains.
- Bachelor’s degree with a 2:1 or higher, or equivalent qualification.
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Mandatory Skills:
- Expertise in actuarial data input, results management solution architecture and delivery, including Prophet or equivalent platforms.
- Solid grounding in data architecture and engineering within insurance or actuarial sectors.
- Proven capabilities in cloud architecture design and deployment.
- Strong experience in managing technology delivery projects end-to-end.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Understanding of actuarial modelling processes and IFRS 17 production requirements.
Preferred Skills:
- Qualified Actuary status.
- Project management certification.
- Proficiency in relevant programming or configuration languages used in actuarial or finance systems.
